H.E Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari visited the United Arab Emirates embassy in Pretoria to express condolences on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan - the late UAE president, and signed the condolences book at the embassy.

H.E. Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari signed the condolences book opened by the Embassy of the State of Palestine in South Africa in memory of pioneer and veteran Palestinian American AlJazeera journalist Shereen Abu Akleh, who was assassinated by the Israeli Occupation Forces on 11/05/2022. Abu Akleh’s martyrdom coincides with the 74th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba (catastrophe), and occupation of Palestine in 1948.

Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari hosted Ramadan Iftaar for the Council of Arab Ambassadors together with the Director General of the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation,Mr Zane Dangor, the South African Ambassador designate to Doha Mr. Gulam Asmal, Ambassador Mohamed Dangor.

H.E Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari hosted the South African Minister of Basic Education, Honorable Ms Matsie Angelina Motshekga for Iftaar. The parties discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of South Africa in basic education.

H.E Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari hosted the Head of Infrastructure and Investment in the Office of the President, Dr. Kgosientsho Ramakgopa and Mr. Imtiaz Fazel, acting Director General of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure for Iftaar. The parties discussed areas of mutual interest.

HE Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari attended an Iftaar (fast breaking at sunset) organized by the Council of Arab Ambassadors and hosted in honour of the Honorable Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor. The ambassadors were honored to share the rich cultural and religious traditions of the Arab world with the honorable minister.

The Honorable Minister of transport, Mr. Fikile Mbalula (MP), received H.E Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari. The parties discussed the sharing of expertise and know-how in the field of transportation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of South Africa.

H.E Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari met with the Honorable Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr. Naledi Pandor (MP). The parties discussed strengthening further the distinguished bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of South Africa

H.E Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari addressed the 30th Ordinary Congress of the South Africa Football Association (SAFA) on the state of Qatar’s readiness and preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Sincere appreciation to SAFA President Dr. Danny Jordaan for the invitation and his leadership, thanks all for the support of the Congress for Qatar’s hosting of the World Cup.

H. E. Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari visited H.E former President of South Africa, Honorable Thabo Mbeki at the premises of the Thabo Mbeki foundation in Killarney, Johannesburg. Honorable Mbeki briefed Ambassador Al-Ansari on the principles and objective of the foundation and common areas of interest.
