Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari Presented his Credentials to H.E. Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi, President of the Republic of Botswana

Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Botswana (non-resident) to H.E. Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi, President of the Republic of Botswana. The ambassador passed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, to H.E President Masisi. The parties discussed various avenues aimed at developing cooperative relations between the two friendly countries.

Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari presented a copy of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Botswana (non-resident) to His Excellency Dr Lemogang Kwape, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The parties discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Botswana.


launching an Awareness Campaign on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Stellenbosch, Cape Town

With the presence of community groups of children, women and elderly, His Excellency Ambassador Tariq Ali Faraj Al-Ansari, accompanied by Her Excellency the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor, launched the campaign at Khayamandi Township in Stellenbosch, Cape Town. H.E Ambassador Tariq Ali Faraj Al-Ansari and H.E. Minister Pandor visited old age homes, where distributed blankets and soccer balls, H.E. the ambassador briefed the attendance on efforts of the State of Qatar in social development and the protection of women's rights, as well as Qatar's preparations to host and promote the World cup tournament. H.E. the Minister acknowledged the excellent relations between the two friendly countries, and expressed its gratitude for the role of the State of Qatar in social development and the common values in this field between Doha and Pretoria, and wished the State of Qatar the success of hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.


Visiting Mookgopong in the Limpopo Province to Commemorate Mandela International Day

On the 28th of July 2022, Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari conducted a joint visit with Deputy Minister of the Department of International Relations and Corporation (DIRCO), H.E Ms Candith Mashego-Dlamini to Mookgopong in the Limpopo Province to commemorate Mandela International Day. They interacted with the elderly of the local community of Mookgopong, planted trees and donated blankets, water storage tanks and foodstuffs to the elderly on behalf of the State of Qatar. The participants engaged in a ceremonial cake feast and enjoyed local music at the conclusion of the event. The visit represents further evidence of the strong ties between Qatar and South Africa.


Celebrating Mandela Day in an Event at the Leratong Hospice

Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari joined members of the diplomatic community in celebrating Mandela day in an event at the Leratong Hospice in Atteridgeville,Pretoria,led by the Honorable Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor. Ambassador Al-Ansari enthusiastically joined in the cleaning of the hospice and planting trees in the gardens as part of his Mandela Day contribution.




Attending the Farewell Ceremony of H.E the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in South Africa, and the Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps

Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari attended the farewell ceremony of H.E Mubarak Salim Ali Al Zakwani, the ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in South Africa, and the Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps in the country. The event was organized and hosted by the Deputy Minister of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) H. E. Ms. Candith Mashego-Dlamini in the presence of the diplomatic corps in South Africa.


Celebrating Somalia National Day in South Africa

Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari joined members of civil society, business, government and members of the diplomatic community in South Africa to celebrate Somalia National Day. He conveyed the gratitude and congratulations of the state of Qatar to Ambassador Mohamed Ali Mire of Somalia.
