Celebrating Somalia National Day in South Africa

First Secretary of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Pretoria Visited the Dominican Embassy in Pretoria to Offer Condolences

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Pretoria has learnt with great sadness of the passing of the Honorable Mr Orlando Jorge Mera, Minister of the Environment and Natural Resources of the Dominican Republic. Mr. Khalid Mohamed Alsharshani, first secretary of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Pretoria visited the Dominican Embassy in Pretoria to offer condolences from the people of Qatar to the people of the Dominican Republic.



The African launching of the Widely Acclaimed Book ‘Unbound: Twitter Thoughts for the Heart and Mind’

Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari hosted and moderated the African launch of the widely acclaimed book ‘Unbound: Twitter Thoughts for the Heart and Mind’, authored by Verlaine Diane Soobroydoo. The launch was attended by members of the public, academia, civil society, diplomatic community and senior members of government and the judiciary, Diplomatic Corps, former deputy President of South Africa and Executive Director of UN Women, Ms Phimzile Mlambo Nguka, and head of Diplomatic Protocol at DIRCO Ambassador Noncheba Losi. The collection, written in seven parts, reflects our journey as human beings ascending from darkness, growing, changing and eventually reaching completeness.


H.E Ambassador Presented a Copy of his Credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Angola (non-resident)

H.E Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari presented a copy of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Angola (non-resident) to His Excellency Tete Antonio, Minister of foreign affairs. The parties discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Angola.


Ambassador Al-Ansari Received Qatar Airforce Cargo Plane that Delivered Emergency Supplies for Victims of the Recent Floods in Kwazulu Natal

Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari received at the King Shaka International Airport with several cabinet ministers and senior government officials that included Dr. Naledi Pandor, minister of DIRCO, Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma of COGTA, Minister Landiwe Zulu of DSD as well as Premier Sihle Zikalala of Kwazulu-Natal and Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda of eThekwini Municipality, Qatar Airforce cargo plane that delivered Emergency relief, humanitarian and medical supplies for victims of the recent floods in Kwazulu Natal. The Ambassador addressed the South African media and expressed the friendship and solidarity of Qatar with South Africa.


Ambassador Al-Ansari Participated in a Handover Ceremony with Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Where laptops donated by The State of Qatar

Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari participated in a handover ceremony with H.E Naledi Pandor, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation where laptops donated by The State of Qatar were handed over to the Zinikelene Secondary School in Carolina, Mpumalanga Province. Ambassador Al-Ansari and Minister Pandor interacted with students regarding the importance of education. The visit coincided with a service delivery visit and community engagement to the town by President Cyril Ramaphosa on the same day.
