The diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of South Africa in 1994, after the fall of the apartheid regime ,Qatar was the first of the countries visited by former President Nelson Mandela in April 1995. The bilateral relations between the two countries culminated in the two historic visits of His Highness Sheikh / Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, may God protect him (the father's father) in May 2002 to South Africa, As well as the visit of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in April 2017. The relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of South Africa have witnessed since their  establishment  a growing development in all political, economic and investment fields, in addition to the official high level visits by officials In both countries
